Howard Duane Allman (Nashville, Tennessee, EUA, 20 de novembro de 1946 – 29 de outubro de 1971) foi um notável guitarrista. Membro fundador da Allman Brothers Band (com seu irmão Greg Allman), teve um papel preponderante no álbum Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs, nos anos 1970-71, do Derek & the Dominos (com Eric Clapton).

"...para quem não viveu a época: esse disco saiu aqui no Brasil pela Continental, e um meu amigo comprou. Escutei MUITO esse disco. Teve dentre outras a surpresa de me apresentar alguns caras que eu desconhecia, como Clarence Carter, Johnny Jenkins, e claro, Boz Scaggs, cuja faixa é um negócio de arrepiar (Loan Me A Dime). Interessante como, embora esse disco seja uma coletânea - coisa normalmente associada a uma intenção de lucro fácil por parte das gravadoras - é um trabalho sensacional, com muito boas vibrações. Sem dúvida um trabalho de amor ao Duane e à sua música, ainda hoje e desconfio que para sempre, única, incomparável, inimitável."
