Lone Star foi uma banda formada em Cardiff, Wales, em 1975 por Paul Chapman. A banda assinou com a CBS Records e lançou seu primeiro álbum, homônimo, em 1976. O segundo álbum, 'Firing On All Six', lançado no ano seguinte, contou com a participação do vocalista John Sloman (que mais tarde seria vocalista do Uriah Heep), substituindo Kenny Driscoll.
